Thinking Positive- It doesn’t work!!??

Thinking Positive Is Not Working?

I beg to differ, it is working, but are you working it? Are you really thinking positive, or just thinking positive when it suits you? Do you do affirmations every now and then? Do you think more about what you don’t have than what you do have? Do you allow your emotions to get the best of you and keep rolling over and over in your mind things that are bothering you? You see, the universe sees those thoughts, those emotions as “positive”. By that, I mean the law of attraction says whatever you give more attention to is what will appear in your life, so even if you don’t want more of it, that is what you’re going to get.

The words positive thinking may be misleading in that you’re urged to “think positive” to create positive things, right? But, once again when you think something with emotion, over and over you’re sending out a message that you want more of it. You see, it works either way….in other words, negative thoughts go out into the universe with as much power as thinking positive thoughts.

Can you see why it’s so important to feel happy? To make Happiness First… the rest will follow, your motto, as it is mine? Let me explain; when happiness is the emotion you most often feel then the Law of Attraction works for you and brings you more to feel happy about. Happiness is the key. Learn to make happiness your default emotion. Thinking positive thoughts will come naturally if you are happy.

This means training yourself to look at the bright side of life. Of course we all have the dark side too, but which would you like to give more attention to? Things that create happiness, or things that create misery? Especially when you know that those miserable, unhappy thoughts and emotions are the catalyst to bring more of the same into your life.

Things you can do to feel happy and which will have you thinking positive

  1. Smile. Smiling has been scientifically proven to create a feeling of happiness. Even holding a pencil between your teeth forcing the corners of your mouth up in a forced smile, for 5 seconds or more actually sends “happiness” chemicals from your brain into your body.
  2. Get into nature.
  3. Breathe deeply
  4. Be 100% involved in whatever you’re doing when you’re doing it.
  5. Create a gratitude list and add to it daily.
  6. Surround yourself with positive people
  7. Read inspirational material
  8. Refrain from movies and books that make you feel unhappy or stressed.
  9. Learn to watch your thoughts and refocus them to the positive.
  10. Listen to music.

One of my favorite teachers speaks a lot about the power of intention. As a coach I’ve seen very clearly in my clients and students the profound difference in their lives when a solid intention is made.

The most profound and important thing a person can do to erase fear and access the power of intention is repeating these five key words: I want to feel good! This is the same thing as saying, I want to be in harmony with the source of well-being.

 

This brings me to another thing that Dr. Wayne Dyer says:

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

When you have made an intention to feel good, to feel happy you will change the way you’re looking at things. You will notice when you’re not feeling good and that intention and desire for happiness compels you to change the way you look at things.
