Feeling stuck? Not sure how to move forward?

Feeling stuck- what to do to get going again!

Are you feeling stuck in your life? Think about one of the best times of your life. You are so pumped up! You have a zest for life, a new idea, the universe seems to be throwing all kinds of incredible things at you and you can barely keep up! Then something happens. Your energy drops. You sit back one day and think “What do I now? What do I do next?” You may even feel suddenly

bored with what once excited you so.

We have all been there before. But what do you do about it? It can feel suffocating and like there’s nothing left for you to do and nowhere to turn. You just can’t figure out what to do! When that happens, as it does to all of us, it’s most important to treat yourself with compassion. Beating yourself up will get you nowhere. It could be that you’ve been working so hard, you deserve a break and that’s exactly what you should reward yourself with. This may be difficult to accept especially if you feel overwhelmed with the sheer quantity of things you feel you “ought” to be doing.

Wait…what? Take a break?! I have a million things to do, all of which I’m uninspired to do and you want me to take a break? How does taking a break get things done?

Take a moment and watch the video and please make a comment below the blog.

Does this sound like you? Take a deep breath. Relax. You’ve just hit a wall and it happens to everyone from time to time. Taking a break is essential to your wellbeing and your productivity. Go do something lighthearted and fun that fills your soul, spend time with your family or shut off all electronics and sit quietly and try meditating. If that doesn’t feel right then rent a funny movie; something that makes you laugh and feel happy can do wonders for renewing your energy. This will help to clear your mind and undo that feeling stuck fear, so that when you come back to the task you can approach it in a fresh, new way. You may be surprised how creative you can feel after taking that much needed break.

I heard something at a mastermind meeting the other day and think it’s quite appropriate here. Everything has a winter. Not only nature, but relationships and our enthusiasm for whatever we may be doing. That means everything and if we look at this period of our life in this way we can accept it and know that it will soon be spring.

Feeling stuck can be frightening

I know it can be very frustrating and even frightening when you don’t know the next steps you’re supposed to take and feeling stuck becomes a terror that you will never get going again. You could feel desperate, looking in all directions for some type of clue from somewhere, anywhere! Your mind is pushing and fighting to strike up inspiration and coming up with absolutely nothing but more frustrating thoughts! No solutions, no ideas…your inner ogre is just incessantly barking at you. Let’s be honest, it’s taunting you and laughing at you! You just want to scream “SHUT UP!”

You cannot hear your thoughts above all that noise. The universe is listening for a clear thought from you and in return will send you the answers you seek. - See more at http://loranegordon.com/yourhappinessway/universe-is-listening/

How about the times that you are feeling stuck because no doors are opening? No opportunities in life, work or love are coming to you. You may be trying to force it using the “spray and pray” method. That is when you do things that your heart is not really into, just to be doing something and hoping it works in your favor. But it doesn’t. You just continue to stay stagnant and encounter more struggles.

Feeling stuck is sometimes out of your control

Getting stuck sometimes can’t be controlled. In life you are going to hit roadblocks. So focus on changing your reaction to them. Once you change your reaction to feeling stuck, incredible things will begin to happen. Instead of succumbing to that initial frustration, try looking at the situation differently. Think of it in terms of the universe wanting to send you a different opportunity than the one you’re struggling and fighting too hard to get. Maybe something bigger and better is right around the corner waiting for you to discover it? Maybe you are feeling stuck for a GOOD reason.

According to Sura in her article in the Huffington Post, “7 Ways To Get Unstuck”;

Being stuck serves a spiritual purpose. It is fertile ground for transformation to occur. It tells you that a change is needed.” http://huff.to/1akd48L

The universe does not want you to live your life frustrated and feeling stuck. It wants you to experience all of the amazing life changing opportunities it has waiting just for you! You will feel it in your heart when these opportunities come to you. There will be no struggle. It will feel like magic and all you have to do is ask and be open to receiving! So, take a deep breath, acknowledge you are feeling stuck and see it as a message you need to receive. Then, ask, and the answer will come.

I really needed this boost. I am so happy to have seen this on Twitter tonight. I am a student and am 30, single and feeling like it has taken so much longer than expected for me to earn my degree and reach other goals/dreams that I have. I decided to change my major recently, to in turn find quite a few obstacles in the way of making that happen. It has been really discouraging. It is showing in my grades and motivation to do class work. I am feeling ready to start a better career and to move towards buying a house and not being afraid to find do thingscthatvtruoy make me happy. I tend to put others and their lives before my own, and I feel that it has somewhat burned me out. I look for work but I have no idea what it is that I want to do and where I need to look to find it. The job that I have, happens to be something that I fell into when I was 19 and needed to earn more money. I took the opportunity back then and have held onto it for nearly 11 years. It has turned into a comfort zone but it is most definitely not fulfilling. It is just barely helping to make ends meet financially. It has been a while since I felt the excitement of a new opportunity or a new door opening. Feeling stuck is most definitely the description of how I am feeling. I have so many hopes and ideas of what I want in life. My list of hopes, dreams, and ideas is constantly growing it seems. I feel like I don’t know the steps to take to help me get there, but I know in my heart that it is time for a good change. I think that I’ve known it for a while.I have definitely been in need of encouragement, a little push, or something. Thank you so much for this.

It wasn’t a mistake I saw this on tweeter tonight. Yesterday, I decided to resign from my job after 16 years. I will officially throw in the towel on Oct. 9. You truly need to know your worth and listen to your intuition! Once I resign I will take the rest of the year off to be with my family. We can always make money but not memories!

Good for you La Tanya! You knew you were being guided to read my blog and you listened. Awareness is a huge part of being “conscious”.

Thanks. I hv been feeling stuck and so bored for awhile. I hv the gift of dream that warns me when change is coming. Whether good or bad. Sometimes it’s hard not to feel anxious or worried about those dreams. I look forward to being able to move forward. I’m 51. And more than due for a positive change. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for your comment. Try realizing that when something looks bad it may be making room for something better to appear. Root yourself in your beingness, breathe deeply and practice gratitude for what you DO have. This is the best way to draw to yourself good things.
      Wishing you well,
      Lorane
