Channel Anger into Positive Energy

Today I want to talk about how to channel anger into positive energy. In my younger years anger, with it’s powerful energy, would completely take me away. I would get mentally caught up and think of a million reasons why I deserved to be angry and another million reasons why the other person or situation was wrong. I would vilify them with all the reasons they should know better and do better. I would find my body getting stressed and tense and my mind completely taken over with justifications for my anger. I would find myself verbally lashing out at others hurting them as well as myself, and sadly when I didn’t know how to channel anger into positive energy, I alienated many people in the process.

As I grew and matured, spiritual practices became an important part of my life. I learned how to channel anger into positive energy when I came to realize that my anger was creating victims and the number one victim was me. My anger was all about feeling as if I’d been misused, or hurt in some way. I was actually feeling like a victim. Strangely the victim part hadn’t occurred to me before.

When I realized that, I stopped wanting to feel like a victim and compassion for others and myself became a driving factor in my life.

Since then I’ve developed a process to transmute this powerful force and how to channel anger into positive energy and turn it into fuel that I now use to create something positive.

This is what I do:

  • I notice my anger as it comes. I’m aware of the warning signs and the words going through my
    mind and therefore able to catch it before it completely takes over.
  • I know there is no need to create a story or justify my feelings making one right and the other wrong. That process only intensifies the anger.
  • I begin to do deep belly breathing, which immediately calms me down and gives me access to my thinking faculties.
  • I find the feeling of anger in my body. It could be a tight neck, a rock in the pit of my stomach, clenched hands, or heart ache.
  • I deeply breathe & imagine the breath is going into the area of stress, all the while keeping my attention on my breath and the feelings in my body.
  •  

    I just continue this process until I feel a shift in my energy and any rage or bodily discomfort has lessoned or even discontinued. At that time or soon after I can re evaluate the situation and find acceptance for whatever it was that triggered it. After all, I can’t change what already is. Then I am at my most powerful. I’m calm and centered with access to expanded awareness and creativity.

    The Law of Attraction is always working. If I am giving powerful emotional attention to something that I don’t want that’s the perfect recipe to create more of what I don’t want. Once I’ve gone through the process detailed above I can use that energy to give emotional attention to what I do want. That’s when I’m able to use the Law of Attraction to create my best life.
