Accepting What Is - Create What you Want

Accepting what is helps you get what you want. I’ll tell you why.

Have you ever wondered what motivates you to want the things you want? Perhaps your desires are similar to what your parents wanted or wanted for you. Maybe your desires aren’t anything like those of your parents, but a product of a new philosophy you’ve adopted. Perhaps your influence has come from your education or associations. Whatever it is, the true motivation behind any of our wanting is happiness. You believe that obtaining this or getting that will lead to happiness, don’t you?

What if you could be happy right now without getting any of that stuff?

What if happiness is something you can simply tune into and doesn’t require being anywhere, being with any particular person or getting anything? What if happiness could be as simple as just accepting what is? How does that make you feel? For some, I imagine that’s a bit uncomfortable. We have many thoughts regarding being complacent and to many of us not wanting or going after anything reeks of complacency. My thoughts about that used to be “If I accept what is and I’m happy just accepting, then I’ll lose my charge, my goal oriented personality. I’ll be a lazy and complacent person”. I’ve now learned that couldn’t be further from the truth.

When you’re accepting ‘what is’ you’re peaceful and your clear mind will allow you to manifest what you want, but not because you need it. When you don’t need it you can plant the seed of your desire and allow it to root and flower. You won’t need to constantly dig it up to see how it’s doing. Anxiety becomes a thing of the past.

When you’re accepting what is, without judgment, without thinking you will only accept it if it is this way or under certain circumstances, then happiness just naturally arises. You aren’t fighting anything and there is no internal struggle to bend anything to your will. Your guard relaxes and your mind becomes peaceful. That’s when you’re at your most powerful. That’s when you have greater access to creative bursts of imagination and your awareness is expanded. Wanting and pushing and making things happen in that struggling way does not make for happiness.

When you’re accepting of what is you appreciate everything right in front of you and feel gratitude for life’s blessings. When you’re focusing on resisting something you’re missing the beauty that’s all around and you’re not able to appreciate the good you have in your life. Appreciation is happiness.

You can try to resist the flow of life, but you can’t win. Accept and be happy. “For after all, the best thing one can do when it is raining is let it rain. –Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The state of happiness is a high vibration. The Law of Attraction causes us to attract things situations and events into our life by our vibration. Resistance is a low & angry vibration. What do you want to attract? More that will create happiness or more that will create anger and misery. Non-acceptance of ‘what is’ magnetizes you to attract more of what you don’t like. Think back to those days that started out badly in your mind. You may have felt angry and irritated. You went into resistance. Did you notice how the whole day went badly? That’s a small example of how we create our entire lives, only it’s far easier to see it as a day in time.

Think about the times you’ve felt unhappy and I’ll bet you that you weren’t accepting something that had occurred. You were wishing it were different, or didn’t happen, or they didn’t do whatever they did. The truth is it is done. Fighting it is ridiculous. It’s like trying to fight spilled milk. It already spilled. The only thing that does is to promote misery for yourself and you make everyone around you miserable as well.

One of the highest vibrations you can have is one of acceptance and gratitude. Acceptance and gratitude fuels the law of attraction and now you’ll find your goals, aspirations and desires manifesting far easier and even faster then when you were doing all that pushing and manipulating. Fighting what is, is exhausting. You have no energy left to create what you’re looking for or what you want.

When you feel yourself going into resistance this is what you do

  • Recognize that it’s your opinion of something that makes it wrong
  • Take a nice deep belly breath
  • Accept the fact that you’re in judgment.
  • Take another deep belly breath
  • Realize that not accepting it doesn’t change it
  • Take another deep belly breath
  • Intend to accept what is.
  • Take another deep belly breath

You should find yourself relaxing and if you don’t then just repeat the same eight steps above until you do.

Now that you aren’t spending all your energy fighting and resisting ‘what is’, you have the energy to manifest what you want. You will know a happiness and a peace in this practice you may never have experienced before. It works for me and will work for you too.

    This is a great article. The concept of accepting what is without judgment has made life so much easier, and also make more sense. We humans complicate things too much sometimes. Thanks for your helpful insight.
