Be Grateful…

Be Grateful…

Today, while looking at my outdoor plants, knowing that the warm southern California weather requires almost daily watering, I noticed myself feeling a bit rushed and put upon.  Like so many of you I’m quite busy and in my case it’s helping others to feel happiness and create success in their lives.  Well, of course that means I must walk my talk.

So, as I was watering my plants, seeing my dogs getting their paws wet as they frolicked in the fall out water I again noticed myself feeling annoyed.  Words like “great another mess for me to clean up, etc.”.  As I was reeling in the hose the thought occurred to me how lucky I am to have water to give to my plants, how lucky I am to have plants to give water to, how lucky I am to have a yard to put my plants in and how lucky I am to see my dogs playfully enjoying their time outdoors.

That’s what I teach, refocus to gratitude for what you do have rather than giving your attention to petty annoyances.  This works even if you see these problems as bigger than life.  Always find something to feel grateful for.

He Ate My Lunch!

He Ate My Lunch!

Baxter, Baxter, Baxter! Yesterday I found him sitting on my chair in front of my computer, paws on keyboard. Although very cute it took me 30 minutes to straighten out the actual changes he made to my screen!error-101405_640

Today after feeding him and my other pup KiKi breakfast, concerned because they don’t seem to be enjoying their very expensive brand of organic raw food I’ve been giving them, I ran my errands.
I spend 1/2 hour in the specialty pet store discussing doggy nutrition and finally picked out a food that I only hoped they would like.
Coming home starved, because, oh by the way the one who never got fed was me, I prepared a fruit plate with cottage cheese.
I went into the other room to get some water to drink and came back to find lil Baxter happily enjoying my lunch.
Oh well, I’m trying to cut calories anyway.

I’ve been working up the courage to film these very important teachings, learn to use my TelePrompTer & use just the right backdrop.

High Tech- Where’s the button?

High Tech- Where’s the button?

Watching a TV show about gadgets yesterday with hubby. They showed this super duper TV with bells and whistles and internet capabilities including email, surfing the net, face booking and more.

I mentioned to Harry that I would really love to have something like that. It would be so cool to be able to tweet from the family room chair while watching a feature movie, the twitter portion taking up only a tiny bit of the screen. Ohhh I squealed as the TV guy told me more and more about these high tech features.

Harry turned to me dead faced and handed me a 2″ thick instruction booklet for the TV we now enjoy in our family room.  I thumbed through it for a moment then asked “Harry, how about some popcorn?”, tossing the booklet into the drawer on my way to the kitchen.

New Sheets

New Sheets

Is there anything nicer than sliding into fresh new sheets? But why I ask you are good sheets for a king size bed so expensive you need to mortgage the house? As much value as I put on them, as much as I enjoy them I don’t understand what makes them so costly? I mean they are basically just a “sheet” of fabric. Big deal!

Great quote from Rupert Brooke on sheets..

“The cool kindliness of sheets, that soon smooth away trouble…”
